How to Combat Humidity: Skincare Routine for Oily Skin in the Monsoon

The summer heat is relieved during the monsoon season, but excessive humidity levels can cause problems for those with oily skin. Increased oil production, plugged pores, and breakouts might result from the air's increased moisture content. This season, it's crucial to modify your skincare regimen to maintain healthy, radiant skin. Here's how to successfully control oily skin and battle humidity.


1. Purify tactfully but effectively


It's important to wash your face twice a day because humidity can cause your skin to feel oily and sticky. Select a mild cleanser free of sulfates that can get rid of extra oil and debris without dehydrating your skin. Seek for components that can help regulate oil production and prevent acne, such as salicylic acid or tea tree oil.


2. Apply a Thin, Water-Free Moisturizer


Don't omit the moisturizer, even if your skin feels oily. Choose a moisturizer that is light and oil-free to hydrate your skin without leaving it looking oily. Hyaluronic acid and aloe vera are two great examples of chemicals found in gel-based moisturizers, which hydrate without clogging pores.


3. Use a Mattifying Toner


For monsoon season wear, a toner can make all the difference. Select a mattifying toner that contains niacinamide or witch hazel to reduce shine and the visibility of pores. Use it following cleansing to bring your skin's pH balance back into equilibrium and get it ready for the next skincare process.


4. Exfoliate frequently, but avoid going overboard.


Exfoliation is necessary to get rid of dead skin cells and keep your pores clear, but don't scrub too much. Exfoliate your skin two to three times a week during the monsoon with a mild scrub or a chemical exfoliator that contains alpha or beta hydroxy acids. This will maintain your skin clear and shield it from outbreaks.

7. Eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water.


Finally, keep in mind that your skin is a reflection of what you put into your body. To keep your skin hydrated from the inside out, sip on lots of water. Consume a diet high in fruits, vegetables, and foods high in omega-3 fatty acids to help manage oil production and maintain clear skin.
